Meet Our Doctor
Pat Murphy
DMD
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Murphy is an avid sneaker collector with over 60 pairs in his collection. Don’t forget to ask him about his favorite pair during your appointment—he might even have a fun story to share about why he isn’t wearing them to the office today!
In addition to his love for sneakers, Dr. Murphy enjoys golfing, working out, and spending quality time with his wife, Kimmie, and their two children.
Education
Continuing Education
In 2015, Dr. Murphy traveled to Oregon to attend a two-day, hands-on continuing education course on implant dentistry. Dental implants, which serve as a replacement for a natural tooth root, can be used to restore missing teeth or support a bridge or dentures. That same year Dr. Murphy attended a two day seminar on alternative sleep apnea treatments. In many cases, patients treated with a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device find the machine and its associated mask to be uncomfortable and cumbersome, and they may ultimately elect to discontinue use. An alternative treatment is an oral appliance crafted by a dentist, which can improve airflow while sleeping without the need for a noisy machine or restrictive mask.
In 2016, Dr. Murphy completed a one-day sleep apnea continuing education course, and he has signed up to complete a one-day course on efficient root canal treatment and a one-day course on full-mouth restoration before year’s end.
Staying Connected
